In a week when we recall the dropping of the deadly bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki come and learn the ancient art of Origami. Make a beautiful paper crane and help create a staggering exhibition of 140,000 Origami cranes for a prominent Edinburgh venue.
Alongside this workshop there will be the chance to make a small (A6) notebook using a Japanese stab binding
By the end of 1945, 140,000 people had died as a result of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on 6 August of that year. Each crane represents one of them. Learn the story of Sadako, a young victim of the bombing, and how the paper crane became a symbol of hope that nuclear weapons will never be used again.
