Plain Quakers - On Human Folly

PLAIN QUAKERS is a theatrical partnership formed in 2007 to devise Nine Parts a Quaker, commemorating the abolition of the slave trade. It aims to raise awareness of Quaker traditions and deeper understanding of ethical issues. With support from Yorkshire Quakers it will tour On Human Folly in the autumn.

Will plastic bag environmentalism save the planet? Are the seeds of war germinated by compulsive greed? Can quiet Quaker activist John Woolman speak to our time and challenge us to a radical reconsideration of consumerism? Range Rover or bike? Cheap clothes or fair trade? Well…perhaps tomorrow. “A valuable, thought-provoking play.”
