THE WITHERING
This powerful and touching production is beautifully executed at every level.
Phil Tong's adaptation of Thomas Hardy's story is compelling, with folk songs adding atmosphere and rustic charm.
The seamlessly choreographed movement, incorporating economical set design and use of props, provide a simple and effective backdrop for this intensely moving play. The acting is sensitive, passionate and disciplined: deeply emotional with contrasting light scenes and gentle humour (did I mention the wonderful, whimsical animals?).
Attention to detail is evident throughout - including costume, lighting, sound quality and use of the performance space.
Not one weak link! A gem not to be missed.
