Men behaving badly – and women too
This is men behaving badly – and women too – in a witty and finely-paced production by the Cygnet Theatre Company from Exeter.
There’s nothing like a rich wife to wave your money worries goodbye, and this is the stratagem of our two heroes, hell-bent and out to score.
With deceitful tongues and derring-do they set off panting for their prize, through a field of women who are just, well, panting – until they find their Guaranteed Income Bonds and an outbreak of true love seals the deal.
And if you believe that, you’ll believe anything!
This is a versatile and very well-cast troupe of players, who have made the sophisticated script their own. All praise to Rachel Longstaff and Edward Lawrence, who bestride the turbulent plot, and whose drive and presence yield many of its laughs.
